Initial telephone consultation
Free.
I offer a free initial telephone consultation for up to 15 minutes to discuss the nature of your concerns and the support your child may require. If this is something I am able to provide we can then arrange an initial assessment appointment.
If I am not able to offer the right support, I will always do my best to signpost you to another clinician or service who may be better suited to your child’s needs.
Initial Assessment
50 minute appointment - £150
Extended assessment session (90 minutes plus summary report) – £350

You and your child are invited to attend the first session together. This provides an opportunity to talk about your child’s current difficulties, what has been tried so far and your hopes for therapy. In this appointment, we will also think about what is going well and your child’s likes/dislikes. At the end of this session we will think together about next steps and whether ongoing sessions would be helpful. I tend to recommend four to six sessions before a review.
Understandably, meeting someone new and coming to a first appointment is often a daunting experience. At the start of the assessment session we will think about how you/your child feels about the appointment and discuss any worries that you/your child may have. I’ll reassure your child that there is no right or wrong answer and that they do not have to answer anything they don’t want to. Typically young people feel more at ease as the appointment goes on and the majority report finding the session easier than they had expected!
I always encourage parents to join the first appointment however your child will also be given the opportunity to talk by themselves if they prefer. Subsequent parent sessions can also be arranged if it is helpful to have a more open conversation away from your child.
Follow-up sessions
50 minutes – £150
Initial consultation – 50 minutes – £170 (includes completion of screening questionnaires and is required as part of the assessment)
Please note that this is a stand-alone fee as some individuals will not go on to have a full assessment.
ADHD diagnostic assessment – typically completed over 3-4 hours, plus 50-minute feedback session and full clinical report – £1,080
Total cost of assessment – £1250
